About Tongits
Ask almost any Filipino about Tongits and they'll have a memory tied to it — school breaks, family reunions, barkada get-togethers, or long bus rides with a deck of cards passed around. Tongits is not just a card game in the Philippines; it's a cultural pastime that spans generations, regions, and social backgrounds. From Batanes to Tawi-Tawi, nearly everyone knows the rules.
What 8jilizz has done is take that familiar experience and bring it fully online — with real Filipino players at every table, real money pots, and the same mechanics you've always played. The only difference is that instead of sitting around someone's dining table in the province, you're playing from your phone while on the commute, during lunch, or late at night when the family's asleep.
The 8jilizz Tongits platform is built specifically for mobile-first Filipino players. You don't need a high-end device or a fast internet connection to enjoy a smooth game — the interface loads quickly even on 4G, controls are large and tap-friendly, and the visual design is clean enough that you can follow the game clearly even on a smaller screen.
Beyond the casual tables, 8jilizz also runs regular Tongits tournaments with prize pools funded by entry fees and topped up by 8jilizz bonuses. These tournaments are where the serious players show up — the kind of people who've been playing Tongits for decades and want to test their skills against others at the same level. Whether you're a casual player or a long-time competitive Tongits veteran, there's a table at 8jilizz that fits where you are.

How to Play
Whether you're new to Tongits or just want a quick rules review before jumping into the 8jilizz tables, here's how a round works.
Each of the three players is dealt 12 cards. The remaining cards form the central draw pile. The dealer gets 13 cards and is first to act.
On your turn, draw the top card from the pile. Then discard one card face-up. Other players can pick up your discard if it completes a meld in their hand.
Form melds — sets of three or more cards of the same rank, or sequences of three or more consecutive cards of the same suit. Lay them face-up on the table to reduce your hand value.
If you discard your last card and have no remaining cards, you call Tongits and win the round immediately. This is the best win condition — you collect the entire pot.
Any player can call a draw after placing at least one meld on the table. All players compare the total point value of cards remaining in their hands — lowest hand value wins the pot.
If the central draw pile is exhausted without anyone winning, scores are compared. The player with the lowest hand value wins. In 8jilizz, this is automatically calculated and displayed in real time.
Card Values
In Tongits, your goal is to minimise the total point value of cards left in your hand. Here's how each card is scored.
Valid Melds
Three or four cards of the same rank (any suit). Example: 7♠ 7♥ 7♦ or K♣ K♠ K♥ K♦
Three or more consecutive cards of the same suit. Example: 5♥ 6♥ 7♥ or A♠ 2♠ 3♠ 4♠

Winning More
These aren't generic tips copied from a textbook — they're the actual habits and approaches that experienced players on 8jilizz use consistently.
The sooner you put melds on the table, the lower your hand value becomes. Don't hold onto completed sets waiting for a "better time" — lay them down as soon as they're ready. This also limits the damage if someone calls a dump before you're ready.
Pay close attention to what the other players throw away. If someone discards a 7 of hearts and you're building a sequence in hearts, that tells you they don't need that suit — and you may be able to track which cards are safe to hold.
Kings, Queens, and Jacks that aren't part of any meld are the most dangerous cards to hold. They're worth 10 points each in a burn count scenario. When deciding what to discard, always prioritise removing high-point isolated cards from your hand first.
Calling a dump at the right moment is one of the most important skills in Tongits. If you have a low hand value and one opponent is clearly close to going Tongits, calling the draw preemptively is often smarter than waiting. On 8jilizz, the auto-calculated score display helps you time this well.
Going for a full Tongits — discarding all 12 cards — is the highest reward but rarely the most efficient strategy in every round. Sometimes it's smarter to aim for a low-value dump win rather than hold long looking for the perfect meld. Flexibility wins more rounds than stubbornness.
Even if you're a strong Tongits player, variance is real. Set a session budget at 8jilizz before you start — say, ₱500 — and commit to stopping when it's gone or when you've doubled it. Consistent small wins beat chasing losses every time.
The Full Experience
A lot of platforms that offer Tongits online treat it as a secondary feature — something thrown in alongside slots and baccarat to tick a box. 8jilizz approaches it differently. Tongits is a flagship game category here because we understand how central it is to Philippine gaming culture.
The tables at 8jilizz are populated by real Filipino players — not bots, not AI-generated opponents in competitive modes. When you sit down at a Classic Tongits table, the two other players are real people from somewhere in the Philippines, playing with real money, making real decisions. That authenticity changes the dynamic completely. Bluffing, pacing, reading discard patterns — all of it matters because you're up against human opponents who are trying just as hard to win.
The tournament structure at 8jilizz is another aspect that separates the platform from the competition. Weekly tournaments run on a fixed schedule, with entry fees starting as low as ₱100 and prize pools built from combined entry fees plus 8jilizz top-ups. The format mirrors the kind of competitive Tongits you might find in barangay tournaments — structured, competitive, and rewarding for players who prepare.
For players who want the social dimension of the game, the private table feature lets you set up an invite-only room for your barkada. This is particularly popular with groups of friends who live in different cities — one person in Manila, another in Cebu, another working abroad as an OFW — who want a regular game night together. 8jilizz makes that possible without needing everyone in the same room.
All player data, payment history, and game activity on 8jilizz is encrypted and protected under strict privacy policies. We never sell your information to third parties. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
